Corrosive material ejected from diaphragm pump
During a routine operation corrosive material was ejected from a diaphragm pump. On investigation it was found that the pump had been incorrectly assembled with regard to a specific 'O' ring, this led to the pump failure causing the pumped liquid to be ejected from the air exhaust.
In addition the secondary protection of the pump was inadequate, and did not trap the ejected liquid within the pump confines.
